Dante Peripherals

Dante Peripherals

Upgrade new or existing kit to Dante network compatibility. Dante network cards are available for a number of commercial ampliers & mixers. Retrofitting one of these enables a quick and easy upgrade to get your equipment onto you Dante enabled audio network.

Dante peripherals are designed to enhance and extend the functionality of modern networked commercial audio systems. This category includes a range of expansion cards, control accessories and network upgrades that allow existing audio equipment to connect seamlessly to a Dante audio over IP network. By upgrading amplifiers, mixers and processors with Dante compatibility, these peripherals help future‑proof installations while unlocking the benefits of centralised control and flexible audio routing.

Commonly used in offices, retail spaces, hospitality venues, education facilities and multi‑zone commercial buildings, Dante peripherals are ideal when upgrading or expanding an existing sound system. Typical products include Dante network cards for amplifiers and mixers and interface expansion cards that integrate directly into professional audio equipment. These upgrades reduce the need for additional analogue cabling and make it easy to distribute audio throughout a building using standard Ethernet infrastructure.

Once installed, Dante peripherals enable uncompressed digital audio streams to be sent and received across the network with low latency and excellent sound quality. They support common commercial audio content such as speech, paging and announcements, background music, programme audio and AV soundtracks delivered from DSP mixers, media players or other Dante‑enabled devices.

Network control also allows audio levels, routing and diagnostics to be managed remotely, improving efficiency for installers and system operators.

For system designers, Dante peripherals provide a practical and cost‑effective way to bring legacy equipment into a modern audio over IP environment. Whether adding network control to an existing amplifier rack or expanding channel capacity within a wider Dante system, these accessories play a key role in building scalable, reliable and professional commercial audio solutions.

FAQs

What are Dante peripherals?

They are expansion cards and rack accessories that add Dante, or extra network control, to equipment you already have. Typical items are amplifier Dante cards and patchbays, used when an existing amp needs to join a networked audio system.

How is a Dante card different from a Dante interface?

A card fits inside a compatible amplifier or processor and turns that chassis into a Dante device. An interface is a separate box that converts mic, line or USB audio on or off the network. Use a card to upgrade the amp. Use an interface when the source has no card slot.

Can any amplifier take a Dante card?

No. Cards are model-specific: a 2-channel card will not fit an 8-channel amplifier, and a card for one series will not fit another brand. Check the amplifier family and channel count on the product page before you order.

Why add Dante to an existing amplifier instead of replacing it?

The power stage can stay. The card replaces the analogue link from the mixer, so routing and monitoring move onto the network and you run Ethernet instead of another screened loom. It does not add speaker power, and it does not make a non-certified amp into a voice-alarm amplifier.

Who can help me match a Dante card to an amplifier?

Commercial Audio Solutions stocks Dante cards for Cloud and LD Systems amplifiers and has Dante-trained staff. Call 01663 767888 or email sales@commercialaudiosolutions.com with the amplifier model and how many channels you need on the network.
