The Contacta IR-RX2 Portable Infrared Receiver is a four channel receiver compatible with Contacta infrared assistive hearing  transmitters using frequencies 2.3MHz and 2.8MHz. Current infrared transmitters include the IR-TX2 and IR-TX4 models.

A single bay charger (IR-RX-DC1) and five bay charger (IR-RX2-DC5) are also available. However, the receiver can alternatively be powered by two ordinary Alkaline AAA batteries.

It features automatic gain control and high sensitivity for incoming infrared signals.

This versatile and sturdy receiver can be used with either headphones or an assistive hearing neck loop (IR-NL1) and uses rechargeable batteries.

Volume is amplified, adjustable up to 120dB to assist users with hearing loss.
